Mercedeze Rain Chocolates originated from the visionary efforts of its founder, Patricia Schleg. While employed at her uncle’s confectionery shop more than 30 years ago, Patricia developed a profound fascination with the intricate and delicate nature of chocolate, while also recognizing its innate ability to bring joy to people’s lives. In 1993, Patricia began crafting chocolates as a hobby in her own kitchen. Over time, she started receiving orders from friends and neighbors, eventually showcasing her creations at local artisan craft sales.

After raising her family, Patricia made the decision to elevate her chocolate-making endeavors from a hobby to a commercial venture. In June 2020, she established a chocolate, ice cream, and coffee shop in North Liberty, Indiana, naming it Mercedeze Rain, which are her two daughters’ middle names. Unfortunately, in February 2023, a fire engulfed the building where her shop was located, resulting in the complete loss of the premises. This event prompted Patricia to reassess her business priorities, leading her to focus more intensely on her passion for crafting exceptional chocolates. Additionally, she decided to organize tasting events where friends could gather to sample and savor the delectable chocolates and confections created at Mercedeze Rain Chocolates.
